New Release - KIR249 - Kwerk EP

Yes yes that's right it's new release time and let me say I am stoked about this one. Kick It Recordings is back with KIR249 featuring a four track EP from new comer to the scene and Kick It, Kwerk. Just recently relocated to London, Kwerk steps up big time with his first effort and is already receiving support from many of the top names in Breaks. Kwerk starts us off with "Bassline Punk", a heads down driving tuna complete with wicked leads, throbbing bass, killer vocals and a proper Old School vibe. Second in the EP is "Need You" which is another bassline banger. Ravey synths and rolling lows are combined with a super funky and fun main breakdown giving "Need You" an upbeat edge to balance out the grimey bass. Third in line is the massive "Switch That Bass" and if you like Nu Skool Breaks, there is no way you are not going to get down to this one! Thumping kicks and the switch that bass vox start us off on the right foot. Shuffling hats and a couple of sweeps get us into the short and sweet first breakdown and then it's all about the business and the bassline! Clean and crisp all around, everything about this track says dancefloor rocker. Tons of energy, a funky break and humongous sub-freqs, what more can you ask for. The final piece in the EP is "Light & Dark". Meaty kicks and clappy snares get us bouncing as the acid lead drops in to add the groove. Taking things back a step "Light & Dark" is a proper belter to get a gig started or chill peeps out mid set giving them a moment to breath but keeping them moving all the same. All four of these tracks will rock a crowd so head on over to wherever you buy your digital music and pick up the new Kwerk EP!

Free Tune - Pecoe - Rock The Insight

We've got a fantastic little mash-up available today. Pecoe out of Perth Australia is the man behind the Breakzlinkz blog and he's also putting together some tasty little treats you can download on his Soundcloud page. "Rock The Insight" is a combination of Moby's "Porcelain", "Rock The House" by Tom Drummond & Philly Blunt" and Fort Knox Five's "Insight" the A. Skillz Remix. Starting off with bits from "Porcelain", a phat and chunky break quickly finds itself riding over the top. The first breakdown is short and sweet and then it's back to Funkytown with a nice blend of the three making for a mellow yet energetic piece. Slap bass and "Come on Down" vocals bring the funk straight through to the final breakdown with a burst of horns to spice things up. Check out the originals below and grab a bunch of free stuff off the Breakzlinkz Soundcloud page and make sure to head over to the Breakzlinkz Blog for heapings of good stuff.

Free Tune - Aze - Dreamdrop

Keeping the variety going strong, today we're back with a lovely bit of Liquid Drum & Bass for you. Aze from the Czech Republic has only been producing D&B since late 2010. Previously Aze produced film soundtracks specializing in orchestral works. He began studying music at the age of only 6 years old and his extensive knowledge and classical training have allowed him to quickly make a name for himself in the Drum & Bass scene. Bringing us today's free business, Aze puts together a fantastic piece of liquidness which myself being a big fan of horns, I am highly fond of. "Dreamdrop" starts off with lovely pads and a touch of keys, when the sensual sax soon makes itself known as the beat filters it's way in. Crisp drums and melodic pads make up the meat of the track with a zappy bassline working its way in and out throughout the piece. The beautiful piano continues through to the main breakdown where stirring strings take main stage adding another dimension to this masterful tune. Head on over to Aze's Facebook page to learn a bit more for yourself and check out plenty more of his work on his Soundcloud page.

Featured Artist - Ancient Astronauts - Into Bass and Time

Back again today with something a little different we have a got a bit on the Ancient Astronauts for you. Prepare for a kaleidoscopic journey into bass and time as the Ancient Astronauts return once again from the far reaches of the musical cosmos with their stellar new Sophomore album just released on March 8th. The Ancient Astronauts are Kabanjak and Dogu, a bombastic production and Dj duo hailing from Cologne, Germany. The phenomenon of “ancient astronauts,” a belief that extraterrestrial beings visited Earth in ancient times to mingle and trade ideas with early human civilizations, isn’t an alien concept to these Ancient Astronauts. The cross-pollination and mash-up of ideas, sounds, styles, and a collaborative spirit are their modus operandi. Already having remixed and collaborated with Fort Knox Five, Ladybug Mecca of Digable Planets, Zion I, Imani and Bootie Brown of The Pharcyde, Issa Bagayogo, Vieux Farka Toure, Kid Loco, Zion Train, and Tippa Irie the Ancient Astronauts have linked up with a variety of new sonic collaborators for their kaleidoscopic sophomore album "Into Bass and Time"!

"Into Bass and Time" sees the Astronauts take their vintage-meets-future block party aesthetic and blast off to new frontiers. The Astronauts are not alone in their journey however, as they bring along a solid crew of MCs, vocalists, and turntablists for the intergalactic ride. Entropik adds lush strings while Dj Brace cuts it up with vinyl acrobatics. Akua Naru and Phat Old Mamas lend a haunting feminine vocal edge while MC’s Azeem, Raashan Ahmad, and Monsoon drop sonic bombs on the m-i-c. From hard driving Hip-Hop, and funky Breakbeat to righteous Dancehall Reggae and late night smokers’ Trip-Hop, "Into Bass and Time" is a sonic rocket ship ride not to be missed!

The Ancient Astronauts also released a 3 track EP in preparation for "Into Bass and Time" entitled "Worldwide". We have the official video for "Worldwide" for you below. Wicked old school breaks, Hip-Hop vocal samples, healthy scratching and a positive vibe make for an instant classic that will stand the test of time.

Plus, to top it all off we have an amazing LIVE mix from the Ancient Astronauts recorded at Sensor Club. Funkin up the Reggae flavor and Rasta behavior this is a perfect mix to kick your summertime activities into gear with a proper cipher. Download, enjoy and check out the Astronauts at the links below.

Free Tune and Mix + New Release - Rennie Pilgrem

I hope everyone out there is having a great week so far!! It's almost the weekend and we're headed off to VT for Blitzkreig this Saturday, so if you're in the area, see you there! We've got a healthy helping of tunage on the tables today coming at you from Rennie Pilgrem. One of the true icons and legends of Breakbeat, Rennie has been laying down the business for too long to remember. Being the son of a jazz trumpeter, Rennie has music in his blood and began playing sax as a youth. Getting his start in multiple funk bands he picked up character and soul that would later serve as the backbone for many of his own tracks. Joining Rhythm Section in the late 80's, Rennie began making House and Techno and in 1993 he founded TCR. Still going strong today, TCR is one of the longest running electronic music labels and they continue to put out awesome music. Back with his latest release on TCR, the latest in the Street Legal series which is another double EP of multiple dancefloor goodies. "Street Legal 3" ups-the-ante even more than brilliantly received number 2.
From the trip-hopped, transcendental "Dream 104" through to the monstrous, carnival meets G-funk of "Revolution 7", via the futuristic "Machine". From the full-on breaks of "One Time" to the banging, 140 BPM Breaks/Nu Jungle throw-down of "Here We Go" if you don't like any of these, you don't like Electronic music!

As if that were not enough, Rennie has also collaborated with Britain's hotly-tipped answer to The Roots..."Left Step Band" for some skanking, dubby, vocal action. The hooky, hook-up came about after Rennie met bass-man Zac on the set of the final Harry Potter movie. As Zac was a "Death- Eater" his suggestion of a remix was taken very seriously.
Rennie is currently doing a rave-Breaks remix for Supertronix act Jurassic & Codec called Hit Dat and is preparing his next release which is a Soundtrack Album from the film "The Fix". He is also one half of “ones to watch” uberfunkers The Bush Doctors with Jem P from Fingerlickin. They have just started their first Residency (The Bush Doctor’s Medicine Show) at West London’s new Hotspot The Raving Buddha in (aptly named) Shepherd’s Bush. The second dose on Feb 25th sees the mighty Freestylers join the Doctors for all things funky.

Left Step Band is a London based four- piece comprising of rapper Eff Le Ref, Radio 1 DJ, Dev, drummer Nikolai and bass colossus Zac. Their eclectic, wild style is a stampede of Hip Hop, funk, Ska and fat beats. Their raucous live show has resulted in them being chosen to support Finley Quaye and Questlove amongst others. Expect to see them ripping-up festivals and live gigs this summer.

On the free note we have got Rennie Pilgrem "Erica's Fix" Rennie's Breakspoll Mix. Whipped up on the Friday of Breakspoll for his "Nu Jungle" set he busted out, this one starts off with some airy pads with trippy and ominous vocals leading into a few stabs from the keys before the old school wobbling bassline and Jungle drums drop in. Wicked leads, sensual R&B vocals and a gun cocking here and there mixed with a good dose of edits combine for one killer track.
Keeping with the Jungle Breaks theme is the Rennie Pilgrem 140 BPM mix up for grabs. 60 minutes of genre bending basslines and breakbeats that will take you on an electronic journey through the ruffneck side.

Free Tune - Brookes Brothers Ft. Robert Owens - Beautiful - NAPT Remix

We've got another tasty treat up for grabs on this fine Tuesday and this time the boys from NAPT are bringing the N-Funk work out! I bought my first NAPT vinyl back in 2005 I believe it was and the album was "I Need Your Love" on Pocket Rocket, which is still one of my favorite tunes. Since that time I've purchased and downloaded countless NAPT tunes as I'm sure goes the same for most of you out there. NAPT have put together some of my favorite retakes on classic and modern songs and their original material is always just as top notch as well. One of my personal favorites is Mike Snow & Passion Pit's "Black and Blue" the NAPT remix. With multiple awards under their belt and a unique sound that is instantly recognizable, you can rest assured you will hear plenty more from the ones known as NAPT.
Today it's their remix of Brookes Brothers "Beautiful" Ft. Robert Owens that we're talking about. Filtered kicks and groovy stuttered synths get things rolling before the full kicks make their presence known. A signature NAPT roll gives way to the first breakdown with its talking lead, big time sweep and Housey vox building things way up to a hands in the air moment before coming back in with the bassline business. Bouncy and wobbling low ends massage your subs with authority straight to the main break. Another wicked crescendo and we're moving again to the funky beats and articulate bassline, awesome stuff from the UK duo.

What do you know, spring is finally here, for those of us in the northern hemisphere anyway and we've got a proper banger to get things started off on the right foot. Following the natural progression, Raj began producing in 2003 and his original works and edits started finding their way into the sets of djs far and wide. Today we have his Re-Rub of MSTRKRFT's "Heartbreaker" Ft. John Legend, the Wolfgang Gartner remix. Exclusive Interview - The Kick It Twelve - Aeph & Dabs and Maztek Edition

It's time for another edition of The Kick It 12 and this time we caught up with those D&B rockstars, Aeph & Dabs and Maztek out of Italy. This trio has been hurting speakers with their bassline business for a hot minute now and their latest releases on Modulate have been heavily supported so take the next few minutes and get to know them a little better.

Aeph -
Simone Vallecorsa aka Aeph was introduced to Drum and Bass when he was a teenager back in Rome. At the age of 16 he was inspired by people like Bad Company, Dillinja, Ltj Bukem and new wave acts like Pendulum, Sub Focus, Noisia and Spor. After falling in love with the sounds of these well known producers, Simone was compelled to begin making his own music. Now ten years down the line, Aeph lives and works out of London and has released tracks on a number of D&B's most cutting edge labels. The "Aeph" sound is a mixture of early musical influences such as Daft Punk and Prodigy, ultra modern riffs, and great versatility all combined with a finesse that rivals his role models.

"Aeph is on path for greatness! Mind blowing tunes, super tight production and he is even a nice guy!"

Dabs -
With his first releases on Basswerk in 2006-07, Dabs was also the winner of the prestigious Italian contest Elettrowave Challenge 2008 for "Best D&B Italian Dj/Producer". His highly acclaimed tune "Stare Forward" has been remixed by N.Phect (Renegade Hardware, Subtitles) for the Italian label Modulate. Straight afterward he signed "Slick Down" on Mayhem's label Aesthetics, based in Atlanta (US), and "Crawler/Weirdraws" on the notorious Dutch label Citrus, receiving massive Dj support all around the world. Dabs has multiple releases forthcoming in 2011 on labels like Dispatch, Project51, Cyanide, Full Force, Modulate, Fokuz and Sinuous. Among them some collaborations and remixes with the likes of Bulletproof, Mayhem, Cern, Muffler, Future Signal and many more to come.

Maztek -
Matteo Cavo aka Maztek began his musical career very early playing (in bands) as a lead guitarist and percussionist. At the age of 18 he discovered his passion for electronic music, particularly Techno and Drum & Bass, and he began to produce tracks and play out in the Italian underground scene. In 2005 Maztek established the label “Subculture Records”, which caught attention internationally as a vinyl and digital label. His productions were released via Subclulture and on other labels like Modulate and Transistor Technology from Italy. Internationally Maztek has widely appreciated releases out on Basswerk and Contaminated, and he has worked on collaborations with Sleeper Cell, Lost Sequence, Aeph, Dabs, Billian, N.phect and Malsum.

The Kick It 12 - Aeph & Dabs and Maztek Edition

1. – At what age did you first find yourself gravitating towards electronic music and who were some of the artists outside of Electronic music that influenced that?

Maztek: At the age of 18, I was inspired by Aphex Wwin, Squarepushers, Peace Orchestra, Tosca Suzuki, Massive Attack and many others.

Aeph: I started to follow this movement back in 2000 and if by electronic music you mean all the music made by machines. I got seduced by producers like Africa Bambaata, DJ Premier, Marley Marl, Whodini, and DJ Shadow for their way to find and work on samples. At that time I saw this as the most futuristic way to produce music so I thought it was a good idea to give it a go and then I enjoyed it from the very first time. I also kept a look (and I still do) for other genres like Metal, Hardcore, Prog Rock, movie sountracks. I just can't tell you some names because there are too many out there who helped developing my creativity.

Dabs: I was really young, about 12 when I bought my first mixer to connect to my father's turntable. I was attracted to the Euro-Dance music I was hearing on the radio and TV so I started to buy vinyl. No non-Electronic artists influenced me to do this though.

2. – What was your very first Album? How about CD?

Maztek: My first one was "Follow Zuma" in 2004 it was an experimental one.

Aeph: My very first album was "BAD" by Michael Jackson...actually my mum bought it for me.I listened to it over and over and to be honest I'm still in love with it! About CD, maybe some Italian shit pop singer, I dont remember, but I can tell you wich one changed my life: "Cybotron" by Dillinja.

Dabs: Michael Jackson "Dangerous", (on casette tape). My first CD was Cypress Hill "Temple of Boom"

3. – How did you first get involved with the Electronic music culture and what was the first event that you attended?

Maztek: During the 90’s I went to some Drum & Bass parties here in Rome, I heard Roni Size and Grooverider, Fabio as well or DJ Hype.

Aeph: Back in 1999 I think, in my hometown, Rome, I remember that Dj Storm was playing in a club near Testaccio area...I still have the feeling about how that music was big and powerful. That day I first got involved in this culture and thank god that's happened.

Dabs: I was just a kid when I went to my first disco but I would say that I got involved with Electronic music actively after attending my first illegal Rave party in Rome around 2000.

4. – Where was your favorite gig that you have had to date?

Maztek: The Rainbow open air in Slovakia.

Aeph: I had many in the last couple of years but I still don't get enough of them ! The Puerto Rico one is my favourite so far, especially for the location and because I would never expect that crowd..people over there knows what they want and if u give them what they 're looking for ..they just blast off!

Dabs: Let me mention two of them, Melbourne Australia with Phace and years ago in Rome with Calyx and a big big soundsystem and crowd.

5. - Who have you been most proud to play alongside?

Maztek: Black Sun Empire, Spor, Prolix, Optiv, Audio, Fierce, N.phect, Dillinja, CongoNatty, Vicious Circle, Phace and Misanthrop and many others.

Aeph: My mates Blokhe4d...Well, It actually didnt happen yet but is going to happen really soon.

Dabs: Massive Attack in Rome.

6. - Where would you most like to play that you have not yet?

Maztek: Fabric in London and in Holland as well.

Aeph: Well I'm dreaming about playing in the best parties around the world..one of them is the RAM Records night at Fabric here in London and it's coming true this April so I'm open to any other dream to come.

Dabs: Berlin in Europe, Tokyo and Moscow outside.

7. - What is your favorite tune you have released?

Maztek: Maztek & Grotesque “Straight to Bad” and my remix of Intiman and Foreign Beggars “Hit That”.

Aeph: I think "Bad Wolf" is the most creative tune I've ever done, I like the concept and because it's "badly" original.

Dabs: "Who is Gonna Lead?" featuring my best Oz mate Wrath.

8. - Who is your favorite EDM artist? How about outside of EDM?

Maztek: Noisia, Spor, Amon tobin and more, outside of EDM I like many Hip Hop stuffs or Reggae and Roots, Rock as well or Jazz.

Aeph: There are many artist out there I really love at the moment. Mainly I prefer tunes where I can recognise straight away their specific producer's imprint. This is the secret to step up into the history of EDM.

Dabs: Daft Punk and The Prodigy.

9. - Who are some artists you would like to collaborate with in the future?

Maztek: First of all Noisia then I'd like to collaborate with Black Sun Empire, Upbeats, Audio, Blokhe4d, Phace and all the producers I like more.

Aeph: I'd love to collaborate with Wolfgang Gartner. Kavinsky, Justice... it would blow my mind. I am always looking forward to collaborate with people who can add something different on what D&B/Dubstep business bring out.

Dabs: I'd say Misanthrop, Phace and Break

10. - What is your preferred software for producing? Hardware?

Maztek: I use cubase 5 and an Axon Ax100 MK2 to convert guitar into midi.

Aeph: It's been 5 years since I have been producing with Cubase, I don't think it's the best music software but I know so many tricks on that one that I'm cool with that one. Can't wait to try the version 6. About hardwares I have just bought a Microkorg XL and I'm truly in love with that synth, it sounds damn good and it's so easy to make patches and presets, plus I am enthusiastic about all the FXs, especially the dirtiness of his Drive/Wave Shape. I think it is the most eclectic synth for that price range.

Dabs: Cubase 5 plus my immortal E-MU audio card.

11. - What life lessons has the music industry taught you?

Maztek: Well i think it is to always make music for themselves and not follow trends just to be on a label because I believe that when it comes time for recognition it is greater and more rewarding to force himself to be what others want to hear, I know this is dance music, but it is always music, and then expresses a part of us. At the same time I think you should stay current with new styles of music and with what the people want without leaving your personal style.

Aeph: Never be impatient to release your music, because of the huge amount of music and artists you can find on Internet it's easy to get lost in the vastness of this business. I reckon that the best way is writing 10 tunes and releasing the best 4 you have . I like to think that I will be remembered for the quality of my tunes not for the quantity.

I also think it's important not to take music too seriously, playing music is like playing a game, you must enjoy it before you win.

Dabs: Music is NOT politics. Some people misunderstand this and there is too much useless talking around nowadays. I always try to let the music speak at my place.

12. – What does the future hold for Aeph and Maztek?

Maztek: I'm making many collaborations with producers all around the globe, i finished a remix of a Foreign Beggars tune featuring Intiman called "Hit That", this will be on my next sinle on Subculture recordings the video is below, then I made a tune with Optiv from C4C called "Quarks" and it is forthcoming on Renegade Hardware. I'm working on my new Subculture Album as well and it will be a 12 track album with some Dnb, Dubstep and Electro as well.

I'm working on some collabs with Aeph and Fourward and Dabs as well and I have just finished my double 12" for Icarus Audio in which there will be my tune with Grotesque "Staright To Bad" which has been remixed by Audio. Concerning the Italian stuffs, I just finished a remix for Subsonic wich is a really famous band in Italy and i'm working on some Hip Hop beats.

Aeph: I wish just the best for my mates Dabs and Maztek, they deserve a big spotlight for what they are doing. About me well... hopefully a holiday with my girlfriend on some desolate island 10.000 miles away. Unfortunally there are no desolate and warm islands in Uk. Stay tuned!

Dabs: Well, in 1 hour I'm going to have a tasty Italian dinner. After that I guess a bunch of releases on Dispatch, Cyanide, Project 51, Citrus etc.

Free Tune - Saint Saviour - This Aint No Hymn - RuN RiOT Remix

Keeping things interesting we have a big Dubstep remix for you today coming at you by way of RuN RiOT who puts his signature styling on Saint Saviour's "This Aint No Hymn". The amazingly talented Saint Saviour is from London and she just recently released her debut EP "Anatomy" which is available for purchase on her website http://saintsaviour.co.uk/
Formerly the singer for Groove Armada, Becky aka Saint Saviour has been keeping herself busy since leaving GA. In that short time period she has recorded a 4 track EP with some awesome videos to go with each one, released a single, sold out her first solo gig at Bush Hall and toured the UK with HURTS and Caire Maguire to name a few things. "Women Scorned" is a beautiful track with pained vocals but an upbeat feel and today's offering "This Aint No Hymn" follows along those same lines, a bit of Cranberries, Tori Amos and Kraftwerk all rolled up into one.
RuN RiOT starts off his remix with bits of strings and filtered kicks before the bassline business breaks through. Deep and heavy wobbles are paired with Becky's fantastic vocals making for a wicked anthem of a tuna. RuN then adds in some Electro edge to the low ends as things progress then bringing in massive synths leading into the main breakdown with it's wicked sub bass rumblings. Excellent stuff from the one running riots.

Exclusive Free Tune - Jeroen Van Aken - Switch The Flip - Sneaker & The Dryer Remix

That's right everybody, Sneaker & The Dryer are back with another exclusive tuna for your enjoyment. This time they put their breakbeat styling on Jeroen Van Aken's "Switch The Flip". Thick kicks and meaty snares mixed with a proper shuffle and crisp hats make for a bouncy break to get things going. Soloing on the "What you think about that?" sample before dropping in on the first breather, the wicked electro bass starts filtering it's way in cutting on the "way back" vox and then it's on like Voltron. Rolling lows and disco stabs mix with hip hop vocals and sub frequency edits building the energy way up into the main drop where for a brief moment the track seems to completely end. Filtered breaks and echoed female chants add a touch of psychadelia to the mix before a monster sweep takes you way back to business town. Heapings of edits and a handful of Drum & Bass rolls make their way into the final crescendo peaking things for a final time before focusing on the bassline to finish it off. Head over to Sneaker & The Dryer's Soundcloud page and grab yourself a ton of FREE stuff and be on the lookout for lots more to come from the S&D Boys!

New Release - KIR248 - Prato - Set It Off - w/ Remixes by Blastique and Vize

Keeping things moving for 2011, Kick It Recordings is back with our third release of the year just out today on all major digital sites. New comer to Kick It, Prato steps up with "Set It Off" for KIR248, a chilled out and melodic track with a funked up breakbeat and Vocoded vox. Grooving low ends and sensual vocals with tantalizing backings keep things rolling straight through to the main breakdown where the vocoder takes main stage letting you know it's time to set it off.
Blastique joins Kick It on this one as well with his first remix for the label. Blastique first caught my attention back in 2006 with his wicked tuna "Do It Like Rabbits" and now he turns his attention to Prato's funkster recreating the original feel while adding his own touches. Crisp drums and a thick bassline provide the perfect backing to this quirky and laid back track while Blastique makes excellent use of the vocal bits.
Rounding out the release is Vize coming from the Northwest United States and joining Kick It for the first time as well. Turning up the energy, Vize laces in thick kicks with a meaty bassline that introduces itself on the first break. Loads of little stabs and plenty of change ups keep things interesting while the trancey leads maintain the positive vibe. Fun and funky, Vize does an excellent job of making use of original bits while adding his own twist on it. Top stuff all the way around! Just hit the next button on the player to hear the other mixes.

Free Tune - White Stripes - Hello Operator - Eats Everything' Jack Bootmeg via Monkey Beats

I like to keep things interesting for our readers and our listeners and provide you with a fairly wide spectrum of EDM. Granted we are Breakbeat based but from the beginning I have said we will cover the full gamut and as time goes on, I will continue to diversify a bit more and bring you an interesting plethora of tunage. I'd also like to point out that I may not be the most informed when it comes to electronic musical genres and their names. Overall, I'm not clueless by any means but often I just call things whatever best suits them in my opinion. Plus, good music is good and crap is crap, that's what's really important!
Keeping that in mind, we've definitely got something a little bit different for you today. Putting a fresh spin on The White Stripes "Hello Operator" we have Eats Everything with his Bounce House Bootmeg. Coming from the Southwest UK, Eats is well known in his home town for his powerful Dj sets incorporating all forms of House with a twist of the improbable thrown in for good measure. Keeping himself busy in the studio as well, Eats Everything has forthcoming tracks on Warehouse, Simma, Freek, NodFactor and Destination? With nearly 50 releases already under his belt on big labels like Southern Fried, Eats is making his mark on the 4/4 industry.
Starting of his rework with filtered kicks and Stripes chopped up vocals that are followed by echoed axe riffs and natural sounding snares making their way in just before the 1st breakdown. Just as the name states, this one is a straight up bouncer interspersed with little edits on the guitars. A quirky main break works into glitched out leads and "C'mon Operator" stabs before bringing back the bob. Check out more of Eats Everything's tracks on his Soundcloud page and pick up his latest releases over at Beatport, Juno Download or wherever you purchase your digital music.

Free Mix & Forthcoming Release - Neurodriver

With Broken Robot Records currently nominated for "Best New Label" and "Best Label" at tonight's Breakspoll Awards, you know they are doing things right! Label boss and former Far Too Loud-er Dom Smart aka Neurodriver is back with two new exclusive dancefloor destroyers. Both tracks were originally crafted for the late-night hours of the epic Burning Man festival, and have since been extensively road-tested, doing damage wherever they are played.
As the name suggests, "Battledroid" is a heavy-duty, mechanoid juggernaut of a tune, with relentlessly thumping drums and an industrial-strength bassline, interwoven with trademark acidic bleeps and wicked tweaks. Not for the faint-hearted!
"Trompeta" represents a departure from Neurodriver's usual techy-breaks output, and marks his first foray into the dark and murky world of techno, albeit with his trademark hard-hitting production and tangy acidic edge. The track is an epic journey through swirling soundscapes, which gradually builds tension until eventually reaching a frenetic climax, check them both out below.
Packed full of Techy goodness, Neurodriver's Tech-Heavy Spring Mix is a great one to roll the windows down to and get the spirit of spring running through your veins. With artists like Meat Katie, Dylan Rhymes, Lee Coombs and Neurodriver himself on tap, you know this one is packed full of slick stormers.

Free Tune - Javi R - Monje Shaolin - A2C Remix

Back at it again with some more big bassline business and today we're talking about the Tear-Out variety. We all know how big the Tear-Out sound is in Spain, packing coliseums full of slightly mad and screaming fans and this is where A2C is coming to us from. With over ten releases on labels like Held II Ransom and Defintion:Breaks, A2C is making his mark on the Breakbeat world and doing it in style. His latest release "Newline", is a top tuna with a killer bassline, grooving vocals and a trancey and mellow vibe backing the hard edged beats and bass. Old school House style vox bring a touch of old school into the mix and a touch of humor at the same time.
For today's Freebie we have Javi R's "Monje Shaolin" the A2C remix. Horror movie style pads compliment the crisp beats and bring an air of yesterday's post from Figure to the table. Monstrous low ends work their way in through the first breakdown with a wicked build and nasty a bass edit completing the crescendo and simultaneously launching you into orbit on a Nu Skool rocket ship set for the outer regions. Raunchy edits and vocal stabs maintain full throttle energy throughout the track tossing in some D&B fills for good measure. Top stuff and it's available for FREE, you can't beat that! Click your way on over to A2C's Soundcloud page and check him out on Beatport for a plethora of rough and rugged rumblers.
