Starting off as a pirate radio station in 1985, Kiss FM out of London is celebrating 25 years of pumping badass music through your speakers. Kiss FM was the first radio station to go from a pirate radio station to legitimate and it is believed that even as a pirate station they were garnering in the area of 500,000 listeners. Kiss FM was originally founded by Gordon Mac and counterparts Tosca, Pyers Easton and George Power. After trials and tribulations and hitting the streets with a petition the Kiss FM team was rewarded for their hard work by being awarded their license and being made a legal station on September 1st 1990. Kiss FM is still going strong in 2010 being broadcast across the UK and worldwide via the internet. Kiss FM has made a major impact on the music scene across the Globe and are still doing things big with resident djs like Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, and Jay Cunning. Winkball have been documenting 25 years of Kiss FM on their website and they've interviewed everyone from Gordon Mac to the original pirate Djs including Trevor Nelson, Paul 'Trouble' Anderson, Judge Jules, Danny Rampling, Tim Westwood, Daddy Bug and Steve Jackson.
